Or does the White House take security seriously? Delonte West of the Dallas Mavericks was ‘allegedley’ banned from the White House ceremony honoring the NBA champions. West who is from the D.C. area, pleaded guilty to weapons and traffic charges stemming from an incident in September 2009, when he was found driving with three guns. According to West, he was not allowed to attend. The secret service and a team spokesperson said in fact that West was not banned and could have attended. Could it be the tats?
The President has enough on his mind without having to worry about West going cowboy on him.
Dwight Howard is still not happy in Orlando, and was granted permission to speak with several teams regarding a trade. Is this déjà vu all over again, didn’t Shaq demand to be traded from Orlando several years ago? Disney World isn’t fun anymore?

Or is it time not to make any more NFL picks? L.A. was 1-3 last weekend with his NFL playoffs picks. New Orleans was the only correct pick. The home teams all held serve and moved on.
The NY Giants crushed the Atlanta Falcons and now go on to play the Green Bay Packers in Green Bay. New Orleans versus the San Francisco 49’ers in San Fran after beating the Detroit Lions.
In the AFC the Houston Texans pounced on the Cincinnati Bengals and will now ride off to play the Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore. The most exciting game of the weekend was an overtime thriller between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos. The Steelers who had the better record were playing in Denver, crazy NFL seeding. The game was decided on the first play of overtime, as Denver won the toss, took the ball and connected on an 80 yard pass from Tebow to Demaryius Thomas. The Steelers were ‘Tebowed’. My only gripe is that the NFL has still not gotten overtime play correct . The Steelers never touched the ball in the overtime period. It doesn’t seem fair that you can lose in this manner. I know, if Denver had scored a field goal, Pittsburgh would have had a shot, but they didn’t. The new rule still allows for that sudden death ending. Denver moves on to play the New England Patriots.
OKAY, we lied….We like Baltimore and New England in the AFC, and New Orleans and Green Bay in the NFC.
The Colts secured the #1 pick in the draft and are planning on drafting Andrew Luck, the quarterback of Stanford. What this means for Peyton Manning is a mystery. If Manning is healthy, will he stay in Indianapolis and mentor Luck for a couple of seasons, or does he demand a trade, or his release and leave immediately? What is clear is that Peyton’s days with the Colts are limited.

Or does the BCS really stand for the SEC? Alabama rolled over LSU in the college football championship game, 21-0. It was the first time in a championship game that a team was shutout. It is also the sixth straight BCS crown for an SEC school and Alabama’s eighth title.
Alabama split the games this season with LSU and swept the titles. The Crimson Tide was voted No. 1 in the final Associated Press poll for the eighth time, tying Notre Dame for the most of any team in college football, after winning a rematch with LSU in the BCS championship on Monday night.
Alabama’s 21-0 victory easily offset the Tigers’ 9-6 win on Nov. 5 in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and gave it the top spot in the AP ranking to go along with the No. 1 ranking in the USA Today coaches’ poll.
The Tide received 55 first-place votes and No. 2 LSU got one. Big 12 champion Oklahoma State (12-1) was No. 3 and received four first-place votes.

Or has performance enhancing drugs made getting into the Baseball Hall of Fame extremely difficult? Barry Larkin, Cincinnati Reds will join Ron Santo, Chicago Cubs in the 2012 Baseball Hall of Fame induction class. The announcement was made by the Baseball Writers Association of America Monday afternoon.
Larkin was the only man from the 27-player ballot who received the necessary 75 percent of the vote. Larkin got 86.4 percent of the vote (495 of 573). Votes can be cast by writers who have been members of the BBWAA for at least 10 years.
Mark McGwire and Rafael Palmeiro , suspected steroid users were once again denied entry in to the hall in spite of their statistics.
Jorge Posado, catcher, New York Yankees, is expected to announce his retirement from baseball. Congrats to Jorge on an outstanding career.

Or is Floyd Mayweather single-handily supporting the state of Nevada? Floyd Mayweather was scheduled to begin serving a 90 day sentence in a domestic violence case. However a Nevada judge postponed the sentence until June 1st. after it was pointed out that Mayweather was contractually obligated to fight May 5th. Floyd’s defense team and supporters asked for the postponement due to the economic boost the fight would supply to Las Vegas.
Mayweather was ordered to immediately enroll in a yearlong domestic violence counseling program, and it was noted that under the original sentence, Mayweather faces an additional three months in jail if he doesn’t comply. Mayweather must also complete 100 hours of community service and pay a $2,500 fine.
The judge didn’t mention a promise that Mayweather’s lawyers made in court last month that the boxer would donate $100,000 by the end of the year to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure breast cancer research and support foundation in Las Vegas. This would be in addition to 40 hours of community service.
The three month sentence was imposed as part of a plea deal to domestic violence charges. Mayweather pleaded guilty Dec. 21 to a reduced battery domestic violence charge and no contest to two harassment charges as part of a plea deal that saw prosecutors drop felony and misdemeanor charges that could have gotten him 34 years in prison.
Authorities say the case stems from a hair-pulling, punching and arm-twisting argument with Josie Harris, the mother of three of Mayweather’s children, and threats to beat their sons in an argument about Harris dating another man. Harris, now 31, lives in the Los Angeles area with the couple’s sons, now 12 and 10, and a daughter age 8.
Floyd and Manny Pacquiao can’t agree on a match in the ring, so they are meeting in court over a defamation lawsuit regarding Mayweather’s accusations concerning the use of performance enhancing drugs by Manny.
Between, court fees, legal fees and new cars ,Floyd is the best thing in the world for the Nevada economy.

A fan who threw a banana at a black player during an NHL exhibition game has been fined $200.
Christopher Moorhouse lobbed a banana at Philadelphia Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds as he was approaching Detroit Red Wings goalie Jordan Pearce during a shootout in the Sept. 22 game in London, Ontario.
The 26-year-old Moorhouse pleaded guilty Monday but did not appear in court. Moorhouse was charged with a provincial trespassing and given 90 days to pay the fine. Police said there wasn’t enough evidence to charge Moorhouse with a hate crime.
Moorhouse’s lawyer, Faisal Joseph, claimed his client didn’t know hurling bananas at black athletes could be seen as hateful.
