Or is time to look at the 2012 NFL predictions?
NFC East –Dallas Cowboys– counting on Quarterback Tony Romo, finally figuring it out, and the fact that the teams in this division may end up beating each other up. Dallas has improved its defensive secondary, a weak spot last year, by adding two new players. Tough schedules for Dallas and N.Y. leaves ‘wiggle’ room for Philadelphia and Washington.

NFC North-Green Bay Packers –Aaron Rodgers, at quarterback, and a 15-1 record last season speaks volumes to how good they can be.
NFC South-Atlanta Falcons-They have averaged nearly 11 wins in each of the last four seasons and are poised to do it again. (It’s the playoffs where they have their problems.) New Orleans Saints are going through too much, with ‘bounty gate’ and coaches missing games due to suspensions, to pick them. Although they may surprise us and rise to the occasion.
NFC West-San Francisco 49’ers – A good team in a really weak division. Should win it easily.

AFC East – New England Patriots– Improved their pass rush, which will improve the defense overall. Brady and the offense still as potent as ever.
AFC North-Baltimore Ravens-Looked good using the no huddle in the preseason and they remain solid defensively. The Pittsburg Steelers can’t be ignored. If the Ravens miss a step, the Steelers will be right there.
AFC South-Houston Texans-They have an offense that can score at will and a defensive front seven that is good as there is. Texans are finally contenders, after years as pretenders.
AFC West-Denver Broncos-Quarterback P. Manning should be able to lead the Broncos to first place. Their offense may appear unstable at times, but Manning will steady the ship and guide them home. HOWEVER, the Kansas City Chiefs can score a bunch of points and rush the passer with only four. They are a possibility here, if Manning and the Broncos sputter offensively.

Season Opener prediction-Dallas Cowboys 27, N.Y. Giants 17. First game of the season, but will be played as if it is the conference championship game. These teams hate each other and will play all out from the opening kickoff. Each looking to send a message to the other and the league.
Dallas needs the win more than the Giants and will perform accordingly. The Giants, the defending champs, will discover again, how hard it is to repeat as champs.

The only thing that can screw this game up will be the replacement officials. Can you imagine a badly blown call deciding this, or any other early season game. Get the REAL officials back, come on commissioner, the fans are paying REAL money for REAL games and deserve the best.

Or will Floyd Mayweather be fighting soon? Allegedly, Money Mayweather, or soon to be, Void Floyd, lost three million dollars betting on a college football game this past weekend. Yes $3,000,000!!!!!! That is a sizeable amount of money for anyone to just toss away, even Floyd. He’ll earn that and more by fighting again, but it just points out his immaturity and lack of forward planning. The money does not come in forever. (Ask Mike Tyson or Evander Holyfield how quickly the money dries up.)

If “Money” must gamble he should partner up with Olympic swimmer, Michael Phelps, who won $100,000 on a single hand of poker in Las Vegas. Now that is the way to stroke.

Or do the N.Y. Yankees hear footsteps? The Yankees (Major League Baseball) who had a 10 game lead earlier in the summer now lead (as of Tuesday) by 1 game over the surging Baltimore Orioles. The Yankees who have never lost a lead of 5 games or more in their history are in danger of being caught by the Orioles and possibly the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Yankees as a team remained calm and insisted that there is nothing to panic over-they still had the lead…Tuesday.
(If they lose this lead and don’t make the playoffs, will Manager Joe (Girardi) have to go.)?
Stay tuned, as the American League East gets very interesting.
(We went to press too early for Tuesday nights’ scores.)

Or did the top 25 college football teams pretty much all hold serve? Everyone in the top 25 won except Michigan (who received a vote for first place) and Boise State who lost to Alabama and Michigan State, respectively, enough said!

Or could Tiger have won a lot more had he been playing better the last few years?
Tiger Woods has become the first $100 million man on the PGA Tour. Woods finished third Monday in the Deutsche Bank Championship and made $544,000, pushing his career total to $100,350,700.

Can you imagine his winnings if he had won a tournament or two in the past few years?
What athletes earn is totally out of sync with what they contribute to society. Would you pay your kid’s reading teacher $100,000,000? Probably not, but what is more important, reading skills or hitting a ball into a hole in the ground? We should pay teachers the big bucks for all they do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
